Hestia carefully folded the parchment around the amulet, watching not to actually touch it herself. When that was done, she placed the package on the small desk which was opposite the exam table and sealed the edges shut with her wand.
"I don't imagine they'll exactly pop off," Hestia said as she cast a sidelong glance at her trainee. Barnes, Hestia thought was the girl's name. She might not have the best way with patients yet, even Hestia lacked that, but she was quite better at treatment than many of the other young trainees were. "For lack of a better word, yes, you should molt, but nothing will replace the protrusions once they're gone." Hestia was trying to remain clinical, but she was beginning to run out of clinical words for antlers.
When they began to shrink, Hestia stepped toward Melinda and placed her hand on one of the antlers. It seemed to be separating from her body well enough, and Hestia gently removed the antler, using her wand to aid the separation. After a moment, the trainee removed the other, and the procedure was almost finished.
"Do you feel anything else unususal, Miss Bobbin?" Hestia asked as she examined the clean spots left on the woman's forehead. The trainee could see to the rest of this case, all that was left would be to administer a basic potion to make sure that nothing else had been affected by the curse and apply a bit of healing salve to the spots on Melinda's head.
