Even Malfoy Manor's wide and gracious halls grew dull and boring when one was held too long in their grip. If things were not progressing so well, she would have had a hard time holding onto her patience.
But soon, very soon, she would be able to be out and about on her Lord's business in public. And, perhaps even more important is some ways, she would be able to shop and dine out and frequently those places that were the right and proper provence of a woman of her breeding and stature. She was getting damned tired of relying on Narcissa to fill the gaps in her wardrobe.
A bright tune caught her attention. Now who would be so brash as to whistle like a common errand boy in these hallowed halls? She could already hear the grumbling starting in the ancestoral portraits.
She moved to stand in the doorway of the front parlor. "Why, hello, Xavier. What has got you in such a mood?"
