After finding himself on a beach with an ominous letter and what appeared to him to be a highly specialised cell phone, Sam looked through what people were saying to one another. He reached out to a few people, but from what he gathered, the general consensus was to meet up at the lighthouse. It sounded like as good an idea as any so he made his way inland from the beach.
It didn't take him very long to get to a point where he could get a good view of the island. From what he could see it didn't look to be very big, but there were many buildings. The lighthouse looked to be the one in the best repair. He could hear the voices of others but he couldn't see anyone, yet. In theory, he would see them when they got to the lighthouse. He was hoping there would be someone already there taking stock of what was there.
As he walked he periodically checked on the messages going out and made a mental list of what they would need to prioritize. The letter had stated there was food and fresh water to be had, though it did not indicate where. SO far his list was: get to the lighthouse, check the stability of the building and check on its contents. It was getting dark, so fire would be necessary no matter what the condition of the building. If they were unable to sleep in the building, they could at least hopefully sleep near it and use it to block some of the winds that were coming off the sea. They'd need to do a headcount and set up watch shifts. He knew better than anyone that the darkness could bring its own set of dangers that were not immediately evident in the daytime.
He finally arrived at the lighthouse and pulled out his blade and began to make a perimeter check. Better to get an idea of the place before trying to go inside.
