"They have also generously offered us a feast once and a while," Kaz added. "Again, it isn't something to be counted on." Neither were the gifts from home really. Who knew when whatever was in charge decided against being so generous? It was entirely possible that if Kaz and the others did not do what they wanted, they would punish them again. Possibly with more hounds or something much worse.
Kaz was rather surprised she'd elaborated on her death. She could have easily simply said she was dead and that was all. Instead, she spoke of the how with clear disgust in her voice. Then again, Kaz couldn't exactly be surprised by that reaction. Dealing such a death was not something one would take kindly. Even if it made her stronger for it.
"I suppose that is true," Kaz replied. Would her body be so adapted to it otherwise? Probably not. It was oddly ironic that Kaz considered his brother's death his rebirth and Katharine seemed to consider her death, her rebirth of sorts. It made her stronger even if it potentially cost her something else.
He nodded. "There are others here with arrows. Perhaps they would be willing to lend you some. We also have magic users here that could potentially help in the construction of some," he offered.
