Lila and OPEN
Lila woke to a note on the network from one of the new people announcing that there were goodies on the beach. Not that she used the word 'goodies' but that was the gist of it. Lila didn't race down to the beach, but eventually she left her little one-room cottage and went to see what she could find.
Almost immediately she spotted a fishing net neatly folded on the sand near the water. And fishhooks. Lots of fishhooks. Those would be useful. She also spotted some weird tools scattered about, made out of coral or shells. She used a couple of them to pry open a crate, and discovered a large array of silverware as well as plates, bowls, mugs, tea cups and glasses. "Score!" she said to herself.
Movement out of the corner of her eye caughter Lila's attention. She looked up to see that she was being observed from the water. For just a moment, she worried that the fishmen were about to attack--but no, these were not fishmen. They had hair on their heads instead of slimy bare flesh, and while their eyes weren't human, they weren't the bulging lidless eyes of the fishmen. Merfolk? They had to be merfolk.
They continued to watch her. Cautiously? Curiously? She couldn't fucking tell. She stared back. A minute passed. "Hey!" she called to them. She gestured at the crate at her side, and at the treasures on the beach in general. "Is this your doing?"
