Kol smirked. "I suppose there is a lot of death and violence there," he commented. Given she said she could appreciate darkness, it was a logical assumption. Though, even if people did not acknowledge it, everyone had darkness in them. Only fools pretended they didn't. "And lucky me. I suppose it makes sense. You didn't run off screaming or start wailing when I flashed my fangs."
It bothered Kol more because he wasn't always a monster. If it wasn't for his parents, he might never have to experience the horror that came with such a label. Perhaps he might not have ever killed another human being. It was a mystery. Like this bloody island. "I suppose so, love," he replied quietly and suddenly wished he had consumed something a lot harder than blood.
In need of a distraction from his depressing thoughts, Kol accepted the cookie and took a bite. "Well, this is...certainly interesting," Kol murmured as his pale skin brightened.
