Caspian chuckled. "At least I am in good company." He nudged Lucy's shoulder in return and took a seat beside her. Everything smelled delicious and, much like his companion, Caspian was hungry. He indulged in a bite of food and a little water before answering her question. It might very well be the best meal Caspian had.
Once he'd swallowed a mouthful of water, he turned to her once more and offered a tired smile. "I suspect I am about as well as anyone here. Exhausted. Wounded. Starving," he replied quietly. In desperate need of a reprieve. Caspian hoped that this feast was a sign such a thing was on the horizon for them all.
