"It works for us in the lighthouse," Michelle said when Stephen mentioned creating a circular pen for the animals. "Should work for them."
"Thanks," Michelle said, looking at her sword for a moment. "I've been practicing for almost thirty years now. But I have to say, they seem surprisingly easy to kill. I've beheaded goats for butchering, and these things seem...soft compared to that. Like they're made of cheese, or rotted meat. Though I suppose I shouldn't complain."
She glanced out at the approaching hounds, and then met Stephen's gaze again. "That said, this barrier--and holing up in the lighthouse--is just a holding action. If we can't figure out how to stop them spawning, things are going to get worse. Got any ideas on that?"
