Lila and Jesper
"That's nice, that you have several friends from home," Lila said, feeling wistful and maybe just a tiny bit jealous. She'd just missed Klaus Hargreeves, apparently. They weren't particularly close--not like she was with Diego--but he'd have been a familiar face, at least.
So Zemini was a race or a nationality. "Of course," Lila agreed with a grin. He was full of self-confidence and charm, and probably rightfully so. Kids his age didn't carry weapons unless they needed them. Wherever he was from, it wasn't a nice place. He was charming, too--but charm wasn't to be trusted. "Charm isn't something you have," her mum had told her many times. "It's something you do."
Lila could sense a power in him. Dormant at the moment, but definitely present. That hardly set him apart. Lots of people here had powers of one sort or another, and most weren't talking about them. Well, Lila wasn't talking about hers. She wouldn't talk about his, either.
"Yah," she said, putting that thought aside. "I think Clay would be contained right up to the moment that he isn't. I've met people like that before. They can go from friendly, or at least neutral, to deadly violence like flipping a switch. Dean would never see it coming."
