"Your world sounds like quite an exciting place," Michelle said after Kate ran down. "There's nothing like that where I'm from. No superheroes or supervillains. No aliens. No undersea kingdoms. If there are witches or sorcerors or werewolves, they're keeping a very low profile."
She shrugged. "Which isn't impossible, I suppose," she said. The Immortals had remained mostly out of sight, although the Watchers knew about them.
The rabbit was tasty, indeed. "Hunger is the best sauce, they say," Michelle said. "Although a little salt wouldn't hurt."
When they were done, while Kate put out the fire, Michelle buried the remains--but kept the skin. "I'll have to see if I can tan this and make use of it."
It was getting late now, the sun low in the sky. "I think this was a pretty successful outing, don't you think?" Michelle said. "We've found a number of useful things, and we know where to find the rabbits when we're ready to hunt more of them, or try to catch and breed them."
