The sentiment might have been lost on Caspian if not for the laugh that preceded the statement. He chuckled and shook his head. "I am afraid I am held to the same standards as my subjects. My smile has no sway over law." Okay, so perhaps Caspian didn't quite understand what Alyssa was hinting at with the comment.
Caspian's expression sobered. "Not nearly as much as I would like. I am afraid duties must come first." Hence why he hadn't ended up sailing to the end of the world with Reepicheep and the Pevensies. The thought still bothered him even if he was capable of seeing the wisdom in his choice to return to Narnia. "But I have had a few and I am always up for hearing of others' travels."
Caspian looked puzzled as she described his 'face twin.' "So very odd. I do look forward to meeting him. To see the similarities for myself."
Fortunately for both of them, Caspian had always been a fast learner. Understanding the device was no exception, but Alyssa did have to correct him once. Of course, the king was grateful for her help. He had to be able to communicate with the others after all.
"Thank you so much, Queen Alyssa. I will no forget your kindness and patience," he replied sincerely.
