Nina nodded. She'd let it go for now, knowing that Kaz wouldn't like her to press more. They'd been in each other's lives long enough that she assumed he appreciated her concern, but his stubborness would win out. Plus, Kaz didn't talk about feelings with the heartrender.
She didn't respond, but the Grisha felt a sense of nerves she didn't know if she'd experienced it previously or blocked it from her memories.
Without saying a word, she went over to where Kaz found the ink bottles and parchment. While he examined the parchment, the Heartrender studied the picture. "She seems important." Although, the parchment did match that on which their arrival notes were written.
After opening a drawer, Nina quietly called out to Kaz. "I found a piece of parchment with writing."
