Newbie Survey
Greetings, everyone. As you can tell by the start of this entry (and from the title itself), I'm new to Striking_Muse. I caught sight of the "asylum" via a promo and thought I'd give it a try.
Name: Call me Anjelstar (the 76 need not be added)
Age: 31
Creative outlets: I have several blogging websites that take up most of my time at present. I play a couple of simulated games (The Sims 2 and Second Life) that I am using as a way to tell stories. On one of my blogging sites (which is fairly new), I hope to write some original short stories. But ... we'll see.
Why I joined this comm: My muse has been kinda ... non-muse-like for the last little while ... and I'm hoping being a member of this community will assist me ... get my juices flowing as it were. Yes, I write for a hobby at present, but that doesn't mean I would like to someday try to get something published. I need to hone my writing skill though. They're pretty rough. I also have several "short" stories started ... and when I say several ... I do mean SEVERAL. I'm always getting ideas for stuff (most of it's just smut), but I can't help but get it down on paper for fear of losing it. I also enjoy drawing. I don't have any of my drawings posted anywhere online ... yet ... but that's to come. I also like to sing. I've been singing since the third grade. I can also play the flute fairly well ... and I'm trying to teach myself several other instruments.
Current work: As I stated, most of my "work" is related to blogs related to the simulations that I'm playing at the moment. But at the same time, I have my own writing that I do offline (whether typed or written in a notebook by hand) that I work on. I've got SEVERAL stories ... and most of them are junk ... not to mention INCOMPLETE. I'm still hoping to be struck by lightning with that one GREAT idea. Still waiting though.
Anything else?: Umm ... I tend to enjoy writing romances that have some adventure/action aspect in them. I also like fantasy ... y'know ... magic, sorcery, mythological creatures ... gothic themes, too (i.e., vampires and werewolves). Other than that, I can't think of anything else to add. :O))
