In all the action movies Theon had compared Robb's life to, this would be the scene in which all the bad guys sprung from the shadows, forcing him (or maybe his stunt double) to Matrix his way out of it in a heroic escape. Robb had no stunt double to speak or, no phone, and once he handed over his gun to the humorless-looking bodyguard coming into view, he would be without a weapon, too. Daenerys Stormborn had asked him to meet at an upscale restaurant near the Pentos-Westeros border -- not the sort of place he typically needed a gun in the first place -- but the request for its removal rendered the coming absence all the more prominent in his mind. Should there be an emergency, he would be cut off, and he didn't much like it... but the possibility that he might learn something useful about the Lannisters was worth the risk. Maybe she's anxious, with the recent attempt on her life, he reasoned, and he was willing to play her game.
The hand off of his guns was as uncomfortable as Robb had expected, but without argument, he followed behind the man (Simon, had she said?) as he was led to the table. He didn't make a point to go out to fancy digs on any sort of regular basis, but in truth, it painted this outing in better cover than most alternatives. Arranging this meeting was not the most traditional way to go about digging up Lannister dealings, but hopefully something useful could come of it... something that could help discredit them and support his father's release from the most ridiculous and unfounded arrest ever.
To trust was a choice, and Robb was going to choose to trust this girl in her actions and in her words.
When they arrived to the table, she was already waiting, as he'd known she would be. (What sort of connection did she have with the Lannisters? They weren't in the same business, so it couldn't be a deal gone sour.) Curiosity was mounting, but his demeanor was wholly collected as he approached. It was all the way in the back, with a good view of all the other patrons. Robb suspected the placement was purposeful. "Good to see you again."
