It's the great Halloween festival! No Games are being run tonight, and the Domus is closed. Rumors have been flying all week about the celebrations tonight; booths and games have been set up all over the green lawn. Bonfires have been stacked and as even falls, they're lit. There's music (both live bands and stereos) and food and games! All of it is free, in the fact that it won't add on to your debt, but what tricks you may have to play for your treats....well.
The first-floor lobby had become crowded with impromptu tables and booths "selling" last-minute costumes. Trade seems to be mostly in cigarettes. The costumes being sold are for the most part bedsheets, capes, headbands with animal ears and small rubber animal noses. One table, run by the neon-pink catgirl, is doing a booming business in face-painting. Why all the costumes? It's bad luck to go outside without one! You might even get cursed!
The games outside are typical carnival games: cup and bean, arm-wrestling with the orangutan, throwing darts, fishing behind curtains for prizes, bobbing for apples.... The red dragon is giving tail-rides for head-scratches, if you're into the sudden-drop-and-fear-of-death thing. The mindflayer is offering brain massages - strangely enough he doesn't have a lot of takers. There's a booth where you can light a candle for the souls of the dead, and another where they will fly a paper lantern up to the gods with your prayers. There's a rabbit-and-chicken race with bets being taken. There's a cakewalk and a witch's fortune-telling booth. There's a rumor of a glory hole out by the Domus, if that's your thing, and some of those who work the oldest trade in the world are certainly hanging out in that area, complete with costumes, themed alcohol, and a welcoming attitude.
There's a pair of tables near the main bonfire, and they're loaded down with snacks and drinks and an entire roast pig. Gin Charlie can be seen around here. He's wearing his usual dark pants, moccasins, and broadsword, but tonight he's wearing a feathered headdress whose feathers look moth-eaten and molted. They were once various bright colours but have mostly faded and the metal is tarnished to black; no doubt when it was new it was vastly impressive! But right now it looks like something that's been molding under a junk-pile for several years.
Holding court beside the main bonfire is the Fairy Queen; Molly, in her nightdress, with a luminous pair of feathered white wings and a delicate gold-and-diamond net over her hair. She has a silky royal robe of white, trimmed with white fur, and she sits upon a pile of white cushions, settled on a large red carpet. Gin Charlie seems to be watching her and her court very closely. She seems to be telling fortunes for pretty baubles, her clear sweet giggles somehow heard all over the grounds.
Have your characters mix and mingle, but there will be in-game consequences for not being in costume! Talk with Molly or eat, join the crows and party until the sun comes up. Be creative, have fun deciding what games and prizes your character gets!
