Normally, Itachi did any training in the privacy of the forest instead of venturing into the training rooms. He felt more at home in the woods. However, now he wanted to be seen. He wanted to let people know he was still dangerous and capable of taking them out.
Also, this worked for venting his frustration at the world for everything that had happened to him and to Shisui. His cousin was still avoiding him, which made Itachi even more determined to punish the person who had done this. What had been done to all of them was wrong, but, more importantly, it had let loose secrets Itachi had sworn to keep. Every ninja knew how important secrecy was. Itachi had just let one of his village's dirtiest secrets out. Someone was going to pay.
Itachi hit the ground hard, all twenty kunai having landing exactly where he wished them to. This skill, while impressive, didn't help very much in battle. It did come in handy sometimes, but rarely enough to make honing it to this point rather useless. This was what Itachi did to challenge himself without blowing out his chakra too fast. As he felt the eyes of others on him, Itachi gathered and sealed the kunai slowly. The simple black tanktop and pants showed now sweat, though Itachi had been here for an hour. His muscles weren't even burning. All the travel he did had worked up his endurance, and he played in enough long games that he hadn't lost his conditioning yet.
As he slipped the sealed kunai scrolls back into a pocket, Itachi settled into a kata stance. Traditional Uchiha defense stance, but, as he started moving, he melded other things into it. Kata he loved. Sparring he loved. The physicality of those things always excited him. He didn't like to kill and wound, but this? This he loved. Challenging his body and mind to think, to move and bend in impossible ways could chase away the frustrations and boredom of his life. Here, he was a genius. Here, no one could pin him down, and he was free. He could move and change his plans and experiment without waiting for a knife to gut him.
Itachi didn't use much chakra as he started, his ponytail snapping behind him. The red ribbon that was starting to be his trademark followed him, belled end whistling as he went into a flip. Anyone watching could see that he was just playing, but they would also see the precision and the control. They would see the delicate power and balance Itachi maintained as he moved across the matted floor, flipping, dipping, striking at nothing just to feel his body move.
