Clarke knew Bellamy had to make some tough choices in there, but she didn't know the extent of it. He could have never told her, and she wouldn't have known. But he was choosing to share this with her, because he wanted her to know she wasn't alone. That this burden was not just hers to carry. She was dealing with a lot right now, but so was he. She knew that. But she wanted to be the one to carry it. She didn't want him to have to, didn't want it to change him.
The more he spoke, the more she knew there was nothing she could do to change it. He was just as stubborn as she was. And he was right. Cage had been the one to make it so they had no other choice. She had to do the unthinkable to save her own people. No. They had to do the unthinkable. His hand was over hers as they irradiated level 5. Lexa had left them all alone to get her people out. Wasn't the decision that they'd made essentially the same? It didn't make it easier for Clarke, not really. But she knew she wasn't alone in it, and that small comfort may have been enough.
"No." She spoke suddenly, shaking her head, as she studied him. "You shouldn't be walking away." Because she didn't think she could handle anything without him, especially right now. "We made the only choice we could. We got them out. We're both responsible." She finally admitted to him. They'd carry this together. And the faces of those they'd sacrificed would haunt their dreams. But somehow, it was easier knowing that Bellamy was there with her. They could lean on one another, and they would get through this.
