Who: Jyn Erso (irebel) and Cassian Andor (candor1)
Where: the Welcome Center
When: Right after this
Status: Ongoing
Warnings: Oh, thoughts (Anything that goes with Rogue One probably fair game?)
He switched off the comm phone kark it: comm, started to put it in his jacket pocket, and belatedly realized he was still wearing what he'd worn on the beach: shirt without jacket, Imperial trousers and boots. He suddenly felt like climbing out of his skin, wanting to get rid of the Imperial gear, but he had nothing to replace it with. He still opted to keep the comm in his hand rather than trust it to a trouser pocket.
His brain was overworking with possibilities of what had happened and what might happen next, no matter how he tried to switch it off. Not enough data. She'll explain. Just wait for it.
But it couldn't bear to wait. It wanted to know.
Less what was happening (the welcome lit had covered that), or how this had happened (they probably would never know), more what would happen next.
Because A dying moment is not a contract. but all he wanted to do as soon as he saw her was grab her back into his arms.
Oh well. He'd trained himself very well to ignore, repress, and go against his own wants. Pretty much his whole life. He was also highly trained to read people. He'd leave the first move up to her. …He'd leave all moves up to her. Unless that was a burden she didn't want. But…
It was how it had worked before. Following her, he'd been able to walk the path he'd always wanted, but, only for himself, never could.
His head hurt. He found a solitary place to sit and tried to clear his mind, calm the kark down, as he waited for her to arrive.
Just be grateful she was here. He'd been very ready to die. Where they were scarcely mattered to him. If she wasn't here, he wouldn't want to be anywhere. She was here, they'd been granted survival, and he'd take that miracle any way it went. Because he might not deserve a second chance, but Jyn Erso did. And if he got to see it, even help with it, that was more reward than he'd ever expected.
[ooc: we haven't discussed this but while I'm obviously a Jyn/Cas shipper, I'm totally cool if you're not, and/or we'll just see how things progress naturally!]
