Of all the strange things this place had thrown her way in the short time she'd been here, another her that wasn't actually her topped the cake for Hope. It helped that they'd decided to look at each other as sisters, because that made it a little less weird, at least on the surface. Truthfully it was hard for it not to be weird, but even though it was, Hope wanted to meet the other her in person. Was actually looking forward to having dinner with her more than she'd looked forward to anything in a while. And while she wasn't the best cook in the world, she could manage to create a meal that was wasn't a complete disaster. That, for whatever reason, seemed important to her - that she make it herself rather than ordering from Granny's, or take the other Hope out to eat somewhere. It was... less personal, and if they were going to act like they were sisters, she figured their first real meeting should be somewhere a little more comfortable.
The meal, in the end, was less satisfactory looking and smelling than Hope would have liked. Pasta that she'd overcooked only a little but was still edible. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she wondered if it was too late try and make something else because the last thing she wanted was for this other her to meet her and think she was so pathetic she couldn't cook noodles right. Which probably was more her being nervous in a general sense than anything. Because really, who cared about the food? Wasn't the point to get to know each other, to sift through the differences in their lives and see what matched and what didn't? And maybe the nervousness stemmed from Hope wondering if this other Hope's life was better than hers - maybe their parents would like her better? Maybe she was just a better person. It wasn't as if Hope was known for being the most gentle of people - she could be a little too brash and sometimes had trouble reigning in her temper.
Worries that she had to shove to the back of her mind when the knock came at the door. Telling herself to calm down, she opened it and smiled.
