Dressed in her usual layers and hat for their casual date, Lux arrived at the Evans house around 7 with her stomach grumbling. She had no idea what Axel was going to make for them so she was pretty hungry. Not wanting to show up empty handed, she managed to swip a bottle of Cate's wine and leave the house with no one suspecting a thing. It was New Years Eve, after all. There had to be some sort of bubbily, right? When he opened up the door after she knocked, she held up the bottle with a smile on her face. "Happy New Year"

Axel couldn't believe that he had actually asked Lux out tonight. It was hard enough some nights even without fireworks. He just had to convince himself that it wouldn't be an issue. If he told himself enough it would happen, right? It couldn't be that hard.

Plus he was happy to be going out with Lux. She made him forgot about everything that happened back home. She was a good friend and he didn't think he would have a chance at dating. He heard the door knock and got up to get it.

"Happy New Year," he said with a smile. He had a basket in his hand. He had made the food and thought it would be nice to be outside.

"A picnic?" She asked with a smile when she saw the basket. There was no other reason why he would have the basket. She hoped whatever he made would pair well with the wine she stole. "I've never had a cold weather picnic before" She added on as she looked from the basket to him. Or really any picnic other than that one she had with Robbie back when they got together. It was a good nice out for one, though. It was cold but not too cold. "There's no Tabasco in there, is there?" She joked, poking a bit at his family's love for the hot sauce.

Axel knew it was a little cold out but it was nothing that a little bit of layers couldn't handle. "Yep," he said with a smile. "You don't mind that do you?" He was planning on using a little bit of powers to keep them warm while they were eating.

The mention of hot sauce made him laugh a little. "Um, no. I thought I'd skip that this time around," he said lifting the bag a bit.

"Not at all. It's a nice night out for that sort of thing" She replied with a smile. She was already dressed in layers and quite warm so she wasn't worried about being cold. "I don't know how your family does that without burning their tongues off" She commented with a laugh, nodding her head to tell him 'let's go' without words. She didn't know where he wanted to eat but she was ready to go and get some food in her belly.

In his household one could say that hot sauce was a food group. It went on almost everything and anything any of them could think of. He just didn't know if Lux was as much as a fan as his family was and he wanted her to enjoy everything. Plus it wasn't a requirement that hot sauce had to be on everything they act. It just happened to make everything taste so much better. "It's an alien thing," he said with a laugh.

"That's your answer for everything" She teased with a laugh of her own as they walked together. Not knowing where he wanted to go, she reached out and took his arm, letting him lead the way. "What made you decide to hang out with me and not hang out with your family?" She wondered as she looked over to him. She was happy that he chose her over his family for the night because she hadn't really had any other plans to do anything.
