Alaric had been through a lot in the past few years of his life, but it seemed things weren't finished yet. Life had thrown him more than one curve ball and he had survived them all, so there was no reason to think that this one would be any different. Having a daughter wasn't going to be easy, but he also wouldn't shirk the responsibility that came along with it. He wanted to get to know her and be there for her. She really did mean a lot to him already. She was his blood and that was something that he thought he would never have in his life. Now that he had it the last thing he wanted to do was ruin in. Sure he had other family....Elena, Jeremy....they all meant more to him than words could ever say, but a daughter of his own was something new entirely. Getting to know her and bringing his family together was something that was very important to him and he wasn't the type to let these kinds of things go. He was waiting at the place that they had agreed to meet and of course he was a full hour early. He just hadn't been able to sit around and wait anymore. He was just too excited and nervous to meet her. He was leaned back against a tree trunk watching the world around him. He didn't want to miss her arrival, so he was making sure to keep his eyes and other senses alert. He wound up getting so lost in his surroundings that he didn't realize how much time had passed. He took a moment to look down at his watched and when he looked up he saw a young woman approaching. He wondered if it was her. He wanted to know. His patience was wearing thin; even thought he had just found out about her a part of him felt like he had been waiting for years. |
