Felicity was pleased that she had been able to convince Laurel to stay in for the day. As much as Felicity loved her work she really did just need a break from everything. Between being stuck in this place and missing some of the other people back home she really was getting overwhelmed. Sure with Laurel here she could make a life here if she had to, but they both had a home and other lives where they came from. A part of her kept wondering if they should just let those lives go and and accept the facts of being here. It was never easy to move on, but if it was what was needed it was better to get on with it than to just keep putting things off. Felicity had never really been the type to adapt quickly, but living in this place and having Laurel with her had changed that a little bit. She was certainly getting better at it.....not because she wanted to, but because she really didn't have much of a choice in the matter. For the moment though she was just going to stop thinking about it. She was going to relax and have a nice day in with her girlfriend. One more day of not making a choice couldn't really change much of anything. Felicity was currently in the kitchen preparing lunch for herself and Laurel, while Laurel got in a few needed phone calls for work. Felicity had always been understanding about this type of thing. Even on days off Laurel sometimes had to made decisions and she had to let the people at whatever office she was working at know the answers. But once lunch was over the phone was going down for a bit, and that was the deal they had already made. Once she had everything in the oven and it was just a matter of time she made her way out to where Laurel was sitting on the couch. She managed to sneak over and sit down, laying her head on Laurel's lap and smiled up at her. She would wait for Laurel to finish the call before picking any more than this, but she certainly wasn't moving. |
