Klaus wanted more than anything to get back home, but the chance to see what his daughter would become was just too great. It wasn't about power for him...at least not as much as it used to be. He wanted his line to continue...he wanted his family to have the life he had always wanted for himself. The chance to get to know her a little as an adult would give him a glimpse as to whether or not he succeeds in the future. It was just something he couldn't walk away from, so as much as he wanted to try to get back to his life he had to do this first. So, he left the house he had been given and headed out to find her. He had her address and he knew he could find her even without that if he needed to. Something in her drew him to her. Of course he had been right. It didn't take him long to find the address even without directions. When he spotted it he took in a deep breath. Things had changed much for him in the last hundred years or so and her birth had been the biggest part of the most recent change. So, seeing her all grown up was something that he was sure was going to effect him. Finally he gathered all his nerve and knocked on her front door. He knew it was silly to be so nervous. He had faced down demons and witches most people couldn't even dream about, but this was different. He had never been good with emotion and family stuff. His own family really wasn't much of an example, but he wanted things to be better for Hope. He really did. He was determined not to be his father. He had always promised himself to be nothing like Mikael. In some ways he knew he had already failed in that goal, but it was something he was determined to fix. And he would start by being a better father than Mikael had ever been. It wouldn't be easy for him and he knew it would take some work, but he had never shied away from a challenge and he wasn't about to start now. He knocked lightly on the door and waited for the response that he was sure would come. As he waited he let his mind wonder of his current predicament. He just knew that somehow he would figure it all out. He had to. |
