Maybe Clarke hadn't thought this through completely, it was an impulsive decision. But she hadn't been lying when she said there was no one else she'd rather have at her side. Clarke had grown used to having Bellamy around. It wasn't just about her developing feelings either, it was so much more than that. Just as Bellamy had said this didn't work without her, she felt the same way. So while part of her wished he would have turned her down and let her go alone, she was glad to him here with her. They were just better together, it was undeniable.
She was getting so sleepy, but she pushed on. It had long since passed the time she could feel any of her extremities, but something kept her going. Lexa. If they died on the way to her, Lexa would surely die too. And Clarke refused to lose anyone else. She just could not go through that anymore. True, Lexa wasn't exactly one of them, but she was from their world. Clarke would risk life and limb to save her. She seriously hoped, though, after tonight, Lexa would consider coming to stay in town. It would be much safer for everyone.
Clarke nodded at the Bell's words, getting as close as she could to the entrance of the cave. Surely they hadn't arrived too late. Clarke couldn't think about how cold she was, not when Lexa had been trapped in here since it all started. Hopefully Bellamy could make quick work of the tree branches, at least enough that they could get the Grounder commander out.
"Hey, Lexa!" She called into the cave loudly, hoping the other girl could hear her over the storm. "We made it, you're gonna be okay." She assured her. "I'll let you know when you can crawl out. Just stay awake, talk to me." Because if she didn't, Clarke would be concerned that they were too late. She looked at Bellamy for a moment, he was so brave and strong, just swinging that hatchet. She knew he had to be so cold. But he was fighting it, just like he was. With any luck, Lexa would soon be free and they'd all be on their way to getting warmer.
