Hope had only been in town for a handful of days, a short enough of amount of time that she'd hardly seen any of the town save for what she'd encountered on her way to finding a place for her to stay. Mainly, a bed to sleep in. Which she'd found in a house that was too big for just her and made her feel lonely if only because it reminded her that even if she had the majority of her family here with her, they weren't really her family. They looked like them, essentially were them, but they didn't know her, didn't know anything about the life she'd had growing up.
Perhaps if they had known her she would have gone out of her way to see any number of them that very day, but she hadn't felt like looking at people she loved and having them look back at her like she was a stranger. But with an actual stranger, it was different. The idea of meeting up with someone she had no form of history with didn't set her on edge. And, if she was being honest, getting out of the large house would be good for her. There was just too much space and too much time for her to think about all the ways this situation was unbelievably messed up. It didn't hurt that, from what she could tell, Johnathan was easy enough on the eyes that she didn't think spending any amount of time with him would be difficult.
Plus, he had offered to play tour guide for her. Saying no would have been rude. So, while she wasn't exactly a morning person, Hope got up before the noon awakening time she'd had for the past several days and made her way to the clocktower - easily the most noticeable landmark in the town from what she could tell - and hoped she wasn't late. Not that it mattered. It wasn't like she had to be punctual, but she generally didn't like making people wait. And the only excuse she had was that somehow she'd managed to lose one of her shoes, setting her back fifteen minutes. Late or not, he was already waiting for her, and Hope gave him a smile as she asked, "Johnathan, right?"
