[Mary grins.] You keep telling yourself that little brother! In order to be my older brother, you'd actually have to be older than me. And you're not. [In reality, she'd still think of him as her older brother but she was going to enjoy this while she could and mostly just to annoy her brother.]
I remember it quite clearly. I remember you spending more time in the water than on your board. [Mary laughs. Steve was a good surfer once he got the hang of it and she definitely thought he was a better one than her but she wouldn't tell him that.]
I'm okay. Kinda weirded about this place though. Least we're here together.
[At the mention of Aunt Deb, Mary frowns.] I'm still living with Aunt Deb. Though maybe when Aunt Deb tells dad that I'm missing, he'll actually give a damn and worry. But knowing dad, probably not.
