Jan. 9th, 2010 @ 01:38 pm Hello!

About Tales from the Wood
This is the IJ home for my stories. A place independent from archives, just to have it all in one place the way it was intended to be.

My newer stories all revolve around the good ship Granger/Snape. But there are also a few gen stories, and my own Snape-Backstory (written before DH!). Just click on the link of the story that interests you, and you'll get a summary, links to the chapters and everything else.

If you have questions or suggestions, or just want to say hi, just reply to this entry.

You will realise that this is an asylum. That allows me to post new chapters under my normal user handle, without having to log in and out all the time. You can friend this asylum if you want to read my newest updates, and you are very welcome to comment everywhere. You cannot start new posts though, you will get the message that the post must be validated by a moderator. I will reply to them, direct them to the place where they should go, but the posts on the asylum will only be story-related posts from me. Just as if it were a normal journal.

I will post stories, chapters, some of background information about the stories (I have an Underground map for AMIEW, for instance), and pictures if I have some. If you want to discuss these things, please comment. If you just want to chat with me, friend me on [info]sylvanawood

Please note that most of my newer fics contain sexual content, in some cases mildly graphic. If you are under 18 this is not the place for you.

Eleven-year-old Severus Snape learns how to make friends and enemies on his first train ride to Hogwarts.

Disclaimer: Nothing you recognize belongs to me. Just borrowed. Will be returned. Snape is welcome to stay, though.
A big Thank You goes to my beta, Maggie, who patiently listens to my whinging, is helpful and thorough, and always encouraging.

The lovely drawing below was made for me by Mouse, my very first beta-reader.

The young boy sat alone in a compartment of the Hogwarts Express and stared out of the window. Platform 9 3/4 hummed with life: children, parents, familiars -- everyone was milling around in bouts of last-minute activities. The whole scene reminded the boy more of a swarm of insects than of people.
