"I um..." Woody jumped up, letting go of Trisha's hand at just the perfect moment, "I have to go to the bathroom. I will be right back."
He thought he could see a hint of amusement in his grandfather's eyes. It would be just like his grandfather to find it funny. He had told him years earlier that it was one day going to bite him in the butt, and Woody was now realizing how exactly correct his grandfather was.
Trisha smugly looked at Katie - but only so Katie could see, before she continued, "Mrs. Jefferson," she started out, before Woody's mom interrupted her -
"Please, dear, you know you can call me Jill." -
Trisha smiled again, taking a big bite of her stir fry, "Jill, would you mind if I stayed the night?"
"Oh not at all dear," Jill told her, after first regarding her husband, "you know you are always welcome here."
