Logan swallowed hard. What Mary Anne had said struck a serious nerve. His parents had been fighting more and more for the last couple of years, and Logan had long suspected they only stayed together because of him and Kerry and Hunter. It made him feel like a burden, exactly like Mary Anne had said. But at least his parents had tried. What would he say to his baby if he didn't? Sorry, I just fooled around with your Mom because she was hot? He didn't love Cokie, but maybe he could. And while what Mary Anne said made sense, a lot of sense, he just couldn't agree with her.
"I understand what you're saying, but I have to try," he said finally.
"I don't expect you to understand. But I just have to," he added.
