"Hey," Woody announced, sitting down next to her with a cup of punch. He wrinkled his nose - the red stuff always tasted horrible, but it at least took the dryness out of his mouth.

He hadn't seen many of his close friends yet and kinda just wandered around saying hi to random people and chatting for a few minutes here and there. He saw Cary earlier, but Cary was with Heather, and even though they weren't dating, he didn't really want to interrupt. He yawned. So far it was panning out to be a pretty uneventful dance.
After a sidelong glance in Katie's direction, he noticed quickly that she was drawing. Half tempted to look closer, he decided it really wasn't any of his business what the girl was drawing and just settled into silence, watching those around them dance.
