A voice brought Eric out of his thoughts and his attention snapped to the sound of multiple bags being dropped onto the sand before he focused on the woman depositing her child into a nearby chair. With the wolf satisfied that there wasn’t an immediate threat, Eric quickly snapped out of it and smiled at the red head who pushed a lock of hair out of her way.
He chuckled, “As the oldest of five, I know a little bit of what that’s like.” Eric paused long enough to think about something before adding with a mild expression of amusement on his face, “Except maybe they weren’t all adorable.” The wolf was joking, of course, as he loved his family but babysitting his siblings when he was younger certainly hadn’t been a cake walk.
Taking the last sip of his beer, he shoved the bottom of the empty bottle into the sand so it wouldn’t fall over as he nodded toward the kid, “Looks like the two of you had fun today.” Eric then offered the bag of marshmallows, “S’more? I will absolutely eat all these if you don’t have one,” he joked.
