Melody couldn't help the smile and she shook her head lightly. "Oh it's okay, I forgot too." she said with a soft giggle. She got so caught up in her paintings sometimes that time just got lost somewhere.
When the door burst open she visible twitched, her breath catching in her throat, heartbeat picking up rapidly. Topher was a Chet, yes, but not because he believed in their lifestyle but because they could offer him protection. He wasn't like them. Savage, on the other hand, he was pure Chet and everything Mel feared about then. And it showed on her face, even though this time she wasn't shaking. At least something.
She stiffened when Savage stepped closer, but she didn't back away from him, holding her basket close to her heart. "I am, but that is none of your business." she said quietly, chin high, but feeling very faint. She glanced to the still open door, frowning. Savage wasn't really blocking the way, so she quickly walked around him to shove it closed, glaring at the Chet after she'd done so. He should know that Topher didn't like the cold!
