[Carson plops down on her bed exhausted and her hand runs absently along her neck then she shoots up, panic clear on her face. She searches the bed and the floor. She tears her room apart then zooms downstairs]
Mom, my ring- it's gone. [She zooms out of the house, retracing her steps before finally coming back home and curling into Skye's arms] I can't find it. I can't find it anywhere. I don't-- how am I supposed to live like this? [Her eyes water] I never take it off. I never -- how could it be gone? [The sun begins to rise and Carson creeps back until Mason shuts the window]

I was supposed to go to college. [Carson says, emotional] It's all over now.

That's it, I'm getting a job. I cannot sit around here in these ratty clothes any more. But for now, we're going shopping. [She doesn't have anyone who owes her favors in this town yet so she's going to have to do this the new old fashioned way. Get a credit card, max it out, then figure it out. She'd compel someone but there are far too many hunters in the area.] Come on.
