Sometimes people let you down. It's a part of life.
The Tony that did it, he's from my world. He's impulsive and always jumps the gun. He nearly wiped out half the world one time trying to prevent a threat that wasn't even there... but his heart's in the right place.
That's why he's still one of my best friends.
The problem he has, Evan, is that he always thinks that the good of the many outweigh the good of one. But in my opinion, once you stop caring about the individual, the fight's already been lost. I'm a soldier, I come from a different school of thought. No man gets left behind. Now I don't care whether or not the natural disasters were done by you and there's no proof either way. It's all speculation. What I do care about is that my team is safe. Every member, not just the billionaires, and you are on my team.
What Stark did is unacceptable and we're not going to let that happen again no matter what happens because you're not just a weapon, you're a member of the Avengers. There are members on our team with unimaginable power and you're one of them, but your powers would mean nothing if you didn't have the strong will to back it up. Same as Banner, the Hulk is a powerful weapon, but even without that, he'd be a hero. It comes down to heart.
You didn't do it, great. But you need to work on your powers, Evan. If you can make something, you can take it away. I'm here to give you a new assignment. The next time you see something, you do something. Try and see what you're capable of during the next storm. See if you can take it away, save a couple of lives. What do you say, are you ready to try?
