Do you have a death wish? Do you have any goddamned idea what could have happened out there? I oughta kick your ass for pulling a stunt like that-
You ran away from home and didn't even bother laying low. Sammy, I know you don't get this, but I keep you and Gina inside for a reason. I can't be there all day every day babysitting the two of you, but there are people and things out there that want nothing more than to see you dead. People and things out there that have vandettas against me, against Dad, against the other version of you that are trying to get to you. People like Blippi- you saw what he did- and he ain't even the worst I've seen.
Dad's in a gang, Sam. Do you get that? I work to fight criminals every day. Criminals that traffic little boys like you- boys who we still haven't found yet. I break my back to keep you two safe and you put it all on the line for nothing. You're lucky nobody got hurt.
And that neighbor of yours, you don't know who the hell she is. She could be in a different gang, she could be in Dad's, she could have been one of the thousands of monsters from storybooks and movies that come to life here, or worse, she could have been an innocent girl who you put a target on.
You think this whole thing is a game because I sheltered you too much, hell, maybe Dad was right. You need to stop playing pretend, Sam. This is our life. My job is to keep you safe and apparently it's not working because you don't listen to a goddamned thing I say to you.
