16-20 16. Are there any blood relatives that your character is particularly close with, besides the immediate ones? Cousins, uncles, grandfathers, aunts, etc. Are there any others that your character practically considers a blood relative?
No. He has no contact with his family.
17. What’s your character’s desk/workspace look like? Are they neat or messy?
Noel HAS to be neat - when things are messy, it's not impossible to find things, but it can be comparatively time consuming. His workspace - an ikea table - has a tower near one of the legs of the table and one of these and one of these on the table. Off to the left of the table, there is a filing cabinet: the top is entirely filled with paper maps and the bottom is filled with snacks.
18. Is your character a good cook? What’s their favorite recipe, whether they’re good or not? (Microwave mac-and-cheese applies.)
Better than you'd expect, thanks to the advent of pre-cut vegetables. He doesn't stray far from meat-veg-sauce-rice, but it's amazing what you can sort out by touch, taste and smell. It's not something he enjoys, per se; he MUCH prefers eating out.
19. What’s your character’s preferred means of travel?
Hired car. More expensive, yes, but it's less fuss than taxi and definitely safer than Uber. He's used the subway and isn't adverse to walking around.
20. Does your character have any irrational fears? What are the rational ones?
Irrational: Mismatched clothing. Most of what he owns tends to be very boring and monochromatic. Rational: being taken to pieces by his family. Particularly, lying in a coma, indefinitely on a heart/lung bypass machine because they've had his removed.
