Slipping into the Solo estate was getting too easy. That wasn't to say there was no security but Lyric was finding himself here more often, patterns were easier, and even with the addition of the nohgri now that they knew who Lyric was he didn't immediately set them off to attempt to murder him. Which was good, Lyric wasn't a fan of being murdered as a general rule. Still sneaking out was a little different from sneaking back in while the household slept. There was the small chance that waking Jacen up might render him with a panicking Jedi and Lyric really didn't want to know what that was like because it likely hurt. Luckily it seemed Jacen was more than amicable when woken up before sunrise. Honestly Lyric was a little surprised to even find Jacen asleep. Without the constant worry that seemed to always be there, even behind his smiles, Jacens face was gentle, kind, and Lyric would have been happy to just let him sleep. But he had information and should slip back out before the rest of the Solo's woke up. When Jacen's eyes opened and Lyric saw that smile though, well, information could wait a little longer while he drowned. "I should wake you up more often." Lyric settled into his side next to Jacen, smiling as he looked over the Jedi next to him. No, his Jedi, which was a distinction that grabbed his heart into a vice. Jacen was decidedly not opposed to the idea and for the moment, his body and mind still wrapped in residual bits of sleep and the afterglow of sheer pleasure, he responded to Lyric's statement by shifting in the bed so that he could curl himself around the other boy's body, his hand sliding across his chest gently, but with a claim that had been lacking up until recently. For a moment Jacen Solo closed his eyes, a smile floating on his lips, and he breathed in early morning air and breathed it back out. He could most certainly get used to this. He stretched, slowly flexing muscles and releasing them and ending by moving his hand to Lyric's jawline to run his fingers down it and he smiled up at that boy that turned his world on its axis. "If you're looking for permission, then it's granted." His voice was still more sleepy than it ought to be considering the amount of activity the two of them had just had, but at the same time it hadn't really required thought so much as reaction and while some part of his brain registered that Lyric likely was here to do something other than just wake up Jacen with kisses and all that followed, that part was still busy pulling itself awake. Really it was good Lyric didn't want to murder him because Jacen wasn't certain he could have effectively have fought back in the moment. "You're beautiful," he said softly as his fingers slid back to Lyric's chest. "I know I am." Lyric teased, unable to hold back the affection in his voice as his fingers brushed Jacen's hair back. There was something enchanting to Jacen like this, warm and heavy with sleep. It would be so easy to pull him into his arms and let the other man drift off gently back into whatever dreams hopefully weren't haunting him. This required trust and affection that Lyric was getting used to and finding that he wanted more of it, more of Jacen. This wasn't the reason he had come, or maybe it was. Lyric couldn't lie about the fact that he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Jacen. It was a thought he kept returning to, the sense of belonging that came from just being around him. It was a sense he didn't want to give up and in Elixs words he didn't have to. "Are you going to fall asleep on me?" Lyric pressed his lips gently against Jacen's forehead. "Hmmm," Jacen murmured, a smile forming at the kiss. "I could, but I suspect you didn't come and wake me up just so you could watch me go back to sleep." But there was a part of him that would like to just slide back into sleep and rest here until whatever point the two of them both woke up naturally. There was half a dream of a life with an allowance for that type of morning. It wasn't a type of morning Jacen was likely to encounter in the near future and he knew it. He hardly let himself dream of a future like that with Lyric. He knew it was only likely to breed discontent with what he did have. Even if he wasn't going to keep it for very long. He knew that his father had already moved their leaving date up by two days. He breathed in and out once more and then pushed himself up into a sitting position. He pulled a few of the pillows behind him and leaned back, awake, but still comfortable. "Should I be worried at the fact that you have found your way into my room apparently without tripping off my parents, the Noghri, the alarm system, and my twin?" He raised an eyebrow at Lyric. Lyric couldn't help the soft sigh as Jacen pulled out of his arms. While he barely admitted it to himself, Lyric enjoyed the familiar weight and maybe had also grown fond of Jacen's head rested against his chest. Still Jacen wasn't wrong, he hadn't come here just to wake Jacen up and then let him slip back into slumber. Though the temptation was there, just because he knew that Jacen never seemed to get the sleep that he needed to. But Darius had proven useful yet again, which meant Rikki continued to find reasons to not cut him loose. He leaned in quickly, pressing a kiss to Jacen's collar before pulling himself up to sit beside Jacen. This was... comfortable. Maybe he could even pretend that this was their life, a life where they could stay in bed and talk instead of Lyric running in his mind just how soon he would have to leave. "Maybe." Lyric shrugged easily as he leaned back against the pillows, slipping his hands behind his head as he watched Jacen. "Though really I'd have thought you Jedi were harder to sneak up on." "Maybe we are," Jacen looked over at him with an eyebrow raised. "But danger sense only works when the danger isn't kisses and..." He paused uncertain what word to apply to what they'd just done. He'd been planning on using 'kriffing' but that didn't entirely match the slow, languorous, hazy tenor of what they'd just built together. The term might not always be inaccurate, but this had been was something else entirely and it had left Jacen with a full and satisfied heart, not just a thoroughly relaxed body, and it struck him that he'd trailed off in silence for several seconds with his eyes on Lyric's dark ones and his cheeks heated slightly as he ducked his head. "Well, you know." These moments were perfect and limited and Jacen couldn't pretend that they weren't. Lyric still hadn't indicated that he and Elix would be joining the Solo's even if his father did seem to have come around to the idea at least partially and to pretend that he would get many more opportunities for this was foolish. And had the unfortunate effect of making him want to burying his head in Lyric's neck "So why did you really come here?" He regained control over his blush and embarrassment - was there really any reason to be embarrassed? - And instead offered Lyric an affectionate smile. "I don't know what you could possibly mean, Princess." Lyric quickly adopted comically large, questioning eyes as he looked over at Jacen. It didn't last long though and his smile quickly grew into a sharp grin as he watched the blush rise in Jacen's cheeks and quickly get banished away. There was something more than cute at the fact that this caused Jacen to flush, even after all they had done to each other. Of course his Princess was a proper young boy, who shouldn't be dallying with street trash like him. But the shouldn't did lead to why Lyric had started this to begin with. As for why he continued? Well the skip in his heart at the sweet smile that was given to him in return was more than enough answer for that. He could just start kissing him again, push him down into the pillows until laughter and smiles turned back into soft little moans and grasping hands. But Jacen wasn't wrong either. As much as he enjoyed this, more than he could ever let Jacen know, he had come for more than just affection. "Tracked down Rikki's contact." Lyric answered easily, voice steady and calm. "It was Peace Brigade, they've managed to get in through security. Your girlfriend's clean though, which is good. Could be useful for departure." Jacen rolled his eyes and punched Lyric's arm gently even as an affectionate smile lingered on his lips: "Not my girlfriend, not going to be my girlfriend, you scoundrel." But the information wasn't remotely a surprise, it was only nice to have it confirmed. More or less, by a contact that Rikki trusted, and Jacen couldn't quite tell if Lyric did, but he obviously trusted him enough to ask the question. He sobered slightly and focused on an empty animal cage across the room as he tried to determine next steps. "I told Dad what we knew last night. A lot of times he goes over and tinkers in the evening and I didn't want him getting into trouble." It had honestly been difficult to decide whether or not to mention Lyric and the whole part where they were going to try to find more information about what was going on. Jacen knew his dad didn't trust Lyric, and it had taken him longer than it probably ought to have to decide whether bringing Lyric up would be a good idea or a bad idea, ultimately he'd mentioned him, mentioned that he had a source he was going to ask about and Han had gotten, well, short and irritable for lack of a better word, but then he'd also gotten on the comms and began making inquiries about the security at the docks. "He wants to move up our departure date. If they've figured out where we're docked they may have put a tracker on... and even if they haven't, it's a lot easier for a ship to plot a course trajectory when we leave. I don't suppose your contact knew anything about that?" Lyrics eyes were bright with mirth as he chuckled over Jacens protests. Still it wouldn't be the worst idea for jacen to flirt and exploit the girls little crush, Lyric believed that entirely. But even if it was practical there was a fierce burst of warmth at the fact that Jacen wouldn't. He didn't want to think too much on that even if he knew very well what it meant and why he couldn't allow himself to admit it. "You like scoundrels." He pointed out easily. But his focus was pulled back as Jacen mentioned the departure date moving up. Elix had decided for him really that they were going. And despite the very real and valid reasons against Lyric couldn't help but look at Jacen and agree with her. At least Nomad still had support, no matter what he thought of Darius, so it was not as if he was abandoning her for Jacens project. And really nomad had brought it up to him anyway as what she thought should happen. "He didn't know that much." Lyric sighed with another shrug. "It wasn't where they wanted him and he's not exactly a high level grunt. But he knew about the infiltration and that last he heard they hadn't identified the falcon." He paused for a moment, letting his arms fall to his sides as he watched the way early morning shadows fell over Jacens face. He didn't want to lose this, to give it up like everything else in his life that had made him happy outside of Elix. "I talked with Elix." His voice was calm but quiet as he spoke. There had been questions that Jacen had been about to ask even if he suspected that they weren't ones Lyric would have an answer to but instead Lyric brought up Elix and Jacen found himself without the words for any of those questions and for a moment seemingly without words at all. This was really it, whether or not Lyric had decided to go, and if he hadn't Jacen didn't know if he would argue that decision or let it go because he had realised how much he was asking Lyric to give up really. But after yesterday Jacen was even more certain of the decision to ask than he had been. Lyric had never been to the bay before and he'd still caught the problem before Jacen. Even outside of his comfort zone instincts and years of watching beings kept him clearly an asset to the team. And then there was this. The feel of Lyric wrapped around him. The was his spirit boosted when Lyric said something simple, but affirming. He swallowed. He really didn't want to lose this. They were both reasons to fight for it, even if he wanted to respect Lyric's decision. Fighting to keep his voice calm he turned to give Lyric a full look. "What did she say?" His voice felt higher than it ought to have, perhaps not as calm as he might have wished. Even if Jacen tried to hide it well, Lyric could see the fragile hope in his eyes that could so easily be crushed and fall apart. If his answer had been no, what would it have done to Jacen? It wasn't a thought he liked and honestly it didn't even seem rational. They barely knew each other, even with long nights with soft words between them, with every emotion that seemed to be called forth just from hearing Jacen's name. Jacen would have been fine without him but would his heart have broken first? Lyric couldn't stand the thought. So instead he leaned in, his hand cradling Jacen's cheek softly as he kissed him. It was warm, familiar, and inviting. Lyric felt like really he could imagine kissing Jacen for the rest of his life, no matter how long or short that ended up being with his fate now tied to the Solo's and all the trouble they seemed to carry along with them. He pulled back, eyes flickering over Jacen's face before allowing himself a small and honest smile. "Elix said that I wanted to keep you. And she was right." For the moment he was kissed Jacen allowed himself to drown in the softness of Lyric's lips against his and the touch of a slightly rough thumb against his cheek and the scent and feel of this other human he had begun to know so intimately. Without daring to think about what might be coming or a half-dozen fears of what the future might look like, Jacen returned the kiss with more hope than he truly had any reason to have. He was asking Lyric to leave everything he knew for a life that was dangerous, and more than that he was asking Lyric to bring Elix with him, the other being he cared most about out of anything in the galaxy. He was asking them both to leave, he was asking them both to accept danger, and for what? A hope of something he didn't even know how to put words to quite yet? When Lyric pulled back, Jacen found Lyric's eyes, which was good because for the next moment they were the only thing that grounded him through the rush of those words echoing through his ears. His own eyes widened slightly, and flickered over Lyric, looking for any sign that what he was hearing wasn't what was being said. But they kept turning over again and again: I wanted to keep you. And the repetition of Lyric's words that was all he could really come up with even as he tried to pull from his own. So instead of saying anything, Jacen shifted, slid his hand up Lyric's chest and returned that kiss back with growing certainty. There was no lie here. Or if there was Jacen couldn't find it, even as he tried to figure out where it was because there had to be something, but even if his father's accusation of con-artist rang true, this still tasted like the truth. Surely Jacen would be able to tell if it wasn't? His hands slid to Lyric's shoulders as he finally pulled back from the kiss and a small, hopeful smile graced his own face as he stated softly: "You're coming then." "Someone has to look after you, because you won't." Lyric teased gently, but couldn't help the light feeling in his heart. This was for the mission, to help the Jedi, there were all good reasons that he could tell people who asked. Reasons that were selfless, giving, and more than likely going to put him in situations that could very well get him killed. And then there was the real reason, that smile looking back at him that he couldn't resist. Jacen could ask for a moon and Lyric would try and find a way to get one for him. It was pure madness and against everything Lyric had ever done in his life. But it was not unlike when he'd opened that cabinet and found two eyes that looked like galaxies looking up at him, a small little Rodian huddled in the corner and trying to not be heard. The same cautious hope that Jacen had in his own eyes, that trusting Lyric was what mattered. "I can't stay too long." He reached up and took one of Jacen's hands in his own. "But we'll be seeing a lot of each other soon." Jacen grinned at that. "You have your work cut out for you," he teased back. "Solo's are notorious for trouble." But despite everything else, Jacen felt light and wanted more than he'd ever really truly felt wanted before. There were things he could say, about how it wasn't required and he wanted Lyric to be certain because who knew when he would come back, but none of them could come to his lips to speak them. He could only feel the weight of Lyric's hand against his own and see the dark eyes that were looking back into his. And suddenly the galaxy didn't seem so dark or so frightening. For whatever reason Lyric made Jacen believe that the galaxy wouldn't tilt into darkness. "You want to come back in an hour and talk to dad with me?" Jace raised an eyebrow at him. "It might not hurt to have you give him the information you just gave me." "He still won't like me." Lyric chuckled softly as he squeezed Jacen's hand. The father of the Solo clan was likely never going to like him. And it made sense. While Elix almost dripped with hope and optimism, Lyric say the hollowness in Han's eyes that he felt. There was nothing quite like looking at what you could turn into in a few decades time. Lyric couldn't say he was all that fond of Jacen's father either. But instead of focusing on that he let go of Jacen's hand to press his own against Jacen's chest, smirking wide. "But there's still some time before sunrise." he offered, tilting his head slightly. "I don't have to leave right now." "You never know," Jacen said with the briefest of shrugs. "I've heard rumors he couldn't stand my Uncle or my Mother either when he met them." But it didn't matter. His father could continue not liking Lyric until the end of the galaxy and it would change nothing so far as Jacen was concerned. His father had never really understood Jacen, and Jacen could tell he was bewildered by him now and not just where Lyric was concerned. That was unlikely to change. But so long as Lyric was looking at him like that, it didn't matter. "Then stay," Jacen said. And breathing out softly before he leaned for a kiss he added in a voice low and inviting: "keep me." |
