Asking for help wasn't something that Oliver did well. Even before the yacht went down and his world was turned upside down, he'd never liked admitting weakness or need. He hadn't wanted for much back then. And now? Now, he had ventured into a world that was much bigger than he could have imagined when he returned to Starling City with a list of names that he needed to punish. He'd never imagined that the criminals he fought would get tougher and smarter. That some might even have powers beyond any a normal human should possess. That some, like R'as al Ghul, might even be near immortals. Or so the rumors went.
Sara and Nyssa were his best bets if he wanted to train to beat R'as. So he tracked down his ex girlfriend's new address and stopped by on the day after Diggle's wedding. He hadn't seen much of Sara since her resurrection. In part, he'd been ashamed to face her. He couldn't help but feel somewhat responsible. If he hadn't driven Thea away and into Malcolm's care, if he'd only been there... Every time that he thought she'd died had been his fault in some way. He knew that the Lance sisters were better off without him in their lives, but he also knew that they were too stubborn to let him go. He just didn't know whether to be grateful or aggravated about that.
He stopped outside Sara's door and knocked. He'd called ahead to make sure she knew he was coming. They were long past the point where they could drop in on each other unannounced. And he would much rather talk to Sara than risk dropping in and running into Nyssa. Somehow, he didn't think that Nyssa would ever really like him. Not that he blamed her.
