Who: Frost and ice (aka, Caitlin and Tora)
What: A mugger sets his sights on Dr. Snow. Thankfully, there's a hero in training nearby.
When: Evening, Tuesday, April 7th
Where: The streets of Central City
Rating/Warnings: Like PG/PG-13, warnings for some violence
Barry had bee missing for a month by now. It wasn't the first time, but that didn't help things. Caitlin felt like she'd failed the man whom she'd been looking out for over the last year and change. Wells had charged her with watching out for Barry's well-being and she'd supported him as he went out and used his abilities to fight crime. But now? Now, Barry was gone and she had no idea where or when he was, and no idea how to help him. Add to that the fact that Ronnie was elsewhere, getting help from some other lab because what was going on with him was outside her expertise, and she was just feeling pretty useless at the moment.
She was only half a block away from STAR labs when she ran into a bit of trouble. She'd simply walked to pick up lunch, and she supposed she should have known better. Central City might not be as bad as Starling City, but crime still happened. She just tended to refuse to hide away from the world entirely.
Plus, she'd been used to having a superhero who was little more than a phone call away. Whoops.
A guy in a hoodie stepped out of the alley and pointed a gun at her.
"Hand over the purse," he barked.
Caitlin looked down at her bag, which was more of a wearable briefcase than purse.
"If you just let me reach into my bag, I can give you my wallet. You really don't want my work notes," she said quickly. She didn't want to lose that briefcase. It might not be worth risking her life for, but it was damn close.
The would-be mugger growled and fired off a warning shot into the air. Caitlin tried not to let out a little 'eep' of a surprise. Apparently this guy wasn't exactly good at keeping a cool head. It likely meant that he was an amateur, which actually made him more dangerous. If he was this trigger happy, there was no telling what could happen. Caitlin sighed and started to slide the bag off her shoulder, still hoping that he'd change his mind and let her keep the bag if she handed over what little cash she had.
