It appeared that the time to face Sam had arrived. It was not going to be an easy thing. How could she possibly be faced with telling him this? He wasn't going to believe it. She was going to have to show him, though she really didn't want to do that. Her life had changed so much.
She could have hid it from him, but she'd never be able to keep that up very long. She could only go out at night. She didn't have a fancy day ring like Caroline's. Alex missed the feel of the sun on her face, but she knew she'd burst into flames. It had been a difficult adjustment, and now Sam being here would complicate things more. But she couldn't lie and say that she wasn't a little happy he was here. She'd missed him.
She walked to the door and opened it, letting him inside so they could talk. She knew physically she'd look the same to him, and it'd be harder to believe they hadn't been together in over a year. Maybe he'd get the hint when he saw all the 2015 stuff around town. She closed the door behind him, and then turned to face him, crossing her arms. She wasn't the same girl that he knew, and it was important for him to know that as soon as possible.
