"Yes. You owe me," she wiggled her fingers, the light glinting off the ring. "You owe'd me something more than an I'm sorry, I wanted exactly what you gave to me, a commitment...and something pretty I could pawn later if needed. I don't trust people, Neal...I can't trust people, no matter how much I love them. This...this is something real, security in case things don't work out. THAT means something to me."
She stood, moving over to him and wrapping her arms around his neck. "I want things to work out, but I do like back up plans as well." With that, she kissed him softly.
