The last thing Victor Budarin remembered was riding the elevator up to the construction sight to retrieve the briefcase for Mr.Carver. Yet as he stepped off the lift he fell through a strange portal and emerged amid the ruins of a city he did not know. It took the well dressed man a few moments to shake off the nauseousness, but even then he was not given a chance to catch his breath; as five men began to circle him. Their ill intentions were made clear as they tried to rob him at gun point, demanding his watch and wallet. Victor frowned as he continued to ignore them, instead focusing on his surroundings as he tried to get his bearings. It was clear by the accents and the debris that he was back state side, and no longer in Hong Kong, but the thing he found most disturbing was the date on a crumpled newspaper. Somehow he had managed to not only arrive in America but he was also four years into the future. With sigh the man in the black suit turned his attention back to the shouting men, and with the flick of a wrist an unseen force hurled four of them a few hundred feet straight up into the air. It took a few seconds for their screams to cease, yet the wet crunching sounds of the bodies slamming into the concrete put an end to the noise all together.
The sole remaining thug panicked and began to fire away, but with an outstretched hand Victor watched as the bullets were deflected by an invisible shield. When the last of the shots were fired the gang member turned to flee but suddenly found himself being hurled to the ground at Victor's feet. What came next was the sounds of screams, breaking bones, and pathetic pleas, but when he was finished gathering as much information as he could Victor held out an outstretched hand. With a wicked smile he put an end to the poor bastard's suffering by unleashing a shockwave that hurled the thug into the ground with insane force, leaving every bone in the punk's body completely shattered. After taking a moment to straighten his tie, and with an annoyed look on his face, Victor turned to face the city off at a distance. His welcoming committee had filled him in the basics, magic portals, refugees, and a place called Starling City. So with slight shake of his head Victor Budarin began to walk away, leaving the broken and twisted corpses in his wake as he went off to find more answers.
