"You don't need to apologize, Adam." Diana explained. It was just...weird for her. They were not that close where she came from. Though if anyone could forgive her for wanting to run away, it'd probably be Adam. "I just feel like if you were from the same time as me, you'd be really pissed off right now."
She felt so connected to him, even now. They'd grown up together, and dated for a long time. He was the one person she felt guilty for leaving. But their time had passed, and why should Diana have stayed in Chance Harbor? She couldn't be around Cassie, knowing what Charles did to Amelia. And of course there was all of the dark magic stuff. She was well and truly an orphan now. Why shouldn't she have left town with Grant? For all the good it did her, because she ended up here and he didn't.
"We get you a room, and you be careful." Diana suggested. This place was more dangerous than he knew. And these were especially scary times. Now she was going to feel responsible for looking out for Faye and Adam, even though Diana was the youngest of the three. "It'll be okay."
His question stunned her, because she hadn't even thought about that, previously. "I...Adam, I have no idea how that's going to work here." But he probably needed to have solo magic, she was going to have to find a way to unbind him. It wasn't as if they could all get a house together or something.
