"Yes, sir. Your reputation precedes you," Sebastian replied, returning the smile. "The pleasure is all mine," he added, and his voice was unwittingly pitched slightly lower. His previous feeling of impending awe was greatly tempered by the silly notion of this man talking to his little pet. Perhaps he had been living by himself with the creature as his only companion? It was too sad a thought to entertain.
A man like Keru, Sebastian thought, should be surrounded by others to be enriched by his knowledge and experience. He intended to do just that if given the chance.
"Left here," he said conversationally, his long strides setting the pace. He had considered that he might be able to get most of his cardio just from walking everywhere on the huge ship. "And two rights coming up before we change decks."
