In the 24th century people still hummed the Mission Impossible theme song when sneaking around faux stealthily, though most had no idea what it was from. It was just one of those peculiar quirks that had somehow stuck with humanity through the centuries. It just somehow seemed dramatically fitting while scooting down hallways, and pressing one's back against a wall before peeking around the corner. She had been doing so for the last two hallways, once the idea had struck her that it was time to get the lay of the ship from more than a computer image on a wall.
Her laboratory had been set up, everything was in order, but there was not yet any work to do, not until all of the crew had been checked in and the voyage began. She had nothing better to do then but to go and figure out what this place was, what was going on, and who were going to be her neighbors and coworkers on this city sized vessel. So far, she had found one arboretum, the medical facilities and a gymnasium. She had considered stopping and joining in a meditation and martial arts class that was on-going, but had thought better of it for now. She wanted to see, to do, to explore. The ship which would soon be simply home, was at this point still an adventure and one she intended to make the most of.
Her first assignment. She was nearly giddy with excitement, and wound tight with anxiety over everything.
