Focusing past the discomfort of breathing in so many strange new scents that almost burned his nose, Ashton took the offered sample and turned to the mirror. He turned his head to show as much of the starburst scars as he could, smoothing his fingers over them. Ashton didn't understand why the scars appeared, why it had to be a tell tale sign of a dragon in human form when they were so powerful, he had read, that some could even camouflage into rocks. It seemed silly and frustrating to the black that something so obvious could give his kind away. Perhaps that was part of why they lived so separated from the humans, to prevent being seen.
Looking at Barclay in the reflection, then casting a look across the store at the sales girl and the woman by the register to ensure they weren't being observed, Ashton dabbed two fingers against the color - like he had seen Emily do - and began applying it to the marks. If this worked and was efficient, he would recommend it to Calidora so she wouldn't have to hide hers with her hair so much. However, Ashton couldn't see all of the marks that curved down his neck from behind his ears and he handed the sample to Barclay. "Is it working?"
