Micah could almost see the confusion and suspicion playing over the half-giant's face, and he tried not to smile. So far, Rob had been helpful and respectful, if he didn't count the mark he'd made on the PSA. But Kaden couldn't go by one thing, especially when Rob hadn't admitted to making the mark, Micah had just figured out it was him through the process of elimination. He'd give him a chance and it looked like Rob was going to give one to him.
"Once a year," Kaden repeated, his brows drawing together. "That's got to be rough. What do you plan to do after graduating from St. Margaret's?" Kaden wondered, asking gently as he was unsure what kind of emotional strain being distanced from his father - someone who could help him through the growing pains, as it were - had on Rob. "Move back to Cascade or..." he left it open for Rob to fill in the blank.
