While Emily would often refer to herself as an indoor girl she had come to enjoying a walk in the woods at least once a day. Breathing the fresh air and being alone with her thoughts was refreshing and allowed all the stressed of the day to melt away. Deep down she hoped that she’d stumble upon her dragon again, but she knew it was probably foolish. He was smart…he probably only came out at night so hunters and the like wouldn’t be the wiser.
As she pondered over that she was reminded of her talk with Ashton…his words…really reminded her of her talk with the dragon…he seemed to have some insight. Part of her had thought he was her dragon but…he maybe just knew the dragon…like Barclay did. She didn’t completely count him out as a candidate, but she’d have to gather more info before confronting him about it. What if he really was her dragon…grumpy Ashton? She smiled at the thought.
Emily was just about to turn back when something sparkly caught her eye. She turned and moved closer. She crouched down to get a closer look and gasped at what she saw. It was scales. Beautiful golden scales. Not wanting to damage them she reached and gently placed them in her palm. Oh, they were definitely scales alright. Not scales of a snake or anything, but scales like….a dragon. Her glee was interrupted with a thought. These scales were gold…her dragon was black. From her limited research thus far she knew dragons couldn’t change the color of their scales. But if they weren’t her dragons that meant...they had more than one. There was another dragon. She glanced at the scales again….a metallic dragon. The thought didn’t frighten her, not because of her trusting nature, but because in D&D metallic dragons were always the good guys.
