Kana nodded. "That whole curse thing didn't help much though," she commented as she shaded in a few areas on the dress in the picture. She was glad that he didn't actually follow up with any other questions, but she figured that he would likely want to hear at least something else. That being the case she figured she could preempt it and change the focus. Perhaps instead of answering about herself she could just get the conversation to go to the curse or things during that time or anything else really.
Of course, nothing she had prepared herself to discuss was able to prepare her for that. Her fiery ears flashed for a split second before she gained control again. Oh please let him have been looking another way when that happened. She looked at the voodoo boy, attempting to pretend as though nothing had just occurred. "Th-thank you," she replied unsure of what else to say. Aside from her fox sister Sara and Miguel, she had never heard someone compliment her like that. She glanced at his paper and was now made privy to the realization of what, or rather who, he was drawing.
