The only thing Garret saw was fire that engulfed his housemate and his hand went to his pocket and the pebbles seemed to draw themselves in a circle around him. There was a special glint to them, but he still felt the heat. He could feel the charms drain as the fire died down. Now, they would just be pebbles again, ready to be washed, cleansed and then recharged.
To his credit, Garret didn't wince or cower. He just stood there, stupified, well aware that when Kana had told him she was a Kitsune, she hadn't just been talking about the House. He swallowed, feeling a little parched. "Sooooo," he started, trying to find the words. "This wasn't about calling down the moon at all?" He was a little disappointed, unsure if he was supposed to protect the young woman who could cal upon fire greater than anything he'd ever seen in his life.
